TEAMS

An important component of Hope Medical Center is the integration of short term medical and non medical teams. Hope Center wants you to come and experience demonstrating the Hand of God through our work here.

Short Term Teams Philosophy

The purpose of short-term teams is two-fold:

  1. To provide specialized services at Hope that we are not currently able to provide.
  2. To enable churches in the U.S. and Europe to catch a vision for medical missions.

We attempt to not have short-term teams perform services that we are currently able to provide.

Hope Medical Center is about 900 km (700 miles) from the capital city. Because of the transportation, we try to limit a team to a maximum of six people.

Regular teams are needed for the following areas:

Surgical Teams

We are currently looking for surgical teams. These teams need to be fewer than eight people. We will find patients depending on your specialty. A trip would typically involve 8-10 days of surgery plus travel.

General Medical Teams

This team would provide primary care at Hope Clinic which is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. The team would consist of General Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, or other clinical specialties to work alongside the national staff and share knowledge.  They should be prepared to teach during continual teaching time to national medical staff.

Dental Teams

Dentists and Dental Technicians are always welcome to come and help for short-term in the dental clinic.

Work/Building Teams

These teams of no more than six persons help Hope Medical Center with building or maintenance projects. They also help local churches with building or repair, as well as C&MA missionaries with building or housing projects. They are fun and hard work, and really make a difference.
